3. How long does the inspection take?

Most home inspections usually consist of 2 -3 hours in the home, and a couple hours of
report writing time. If you plan on attending the inspection, dress appropriately and use
the time to really look over the home and determine how well it will really meet your needs.
This is your opportunity to measure rooms, take pictures and build your vision of what the
home will look like if you purchase it. You can ask your inspector about problems you see
or things about the house you don't understand, but please be aware the inspector needs
to look at hundreds of issues in the time alloted. Most inspectors welcome questions
(within reason) and will answer them to the best of their knowledge. If your time is limited
and you can't attend the whole inspection, try to be there for the last half hour or so.
